Ethiopian Calendar & Date Converter

The Ethiopian Orthodox Church keeps time by the Ge'ez calendar — 13 months, a New Year in September, and feasts anchored to the ancient Julian Paschalion. Its rhythms predate the Gregorian reform by centuries. Studying Scripture through this calendar restores the liturgical world in which the Ethiopian canon was preserved: a year ordered by fasts, feasts, and the memory of saints, not by the secular clock.

Tap any highlighted day on the calendar to learn about that observance, then choose Remind Me to receive a branded email a few days before it arrives. Manage your alerts and lead time in the panel below — reminders are sent automatically, so you never miss a feast or fast.
